JACK RUSSELL TERRIERS
This fun loving breed has always appealed to Sharon and once thanks to the dedicated band of Judges, Owners and Breeder who promoted and campaigned for the Kennel Club to accept the breed onto the breed register she was determined to add the breed to Bareve.
They come in three different coat types, smooth, broken coated and rough and are still classified as a Rare Breed although they are a very popular show dog with large entries compared to some of the established Terrier breeds.
The first JRT to join Bareve was Toddy – Kulawand Hot Toddy at Bareve (Monamour Over The Rainbow – Goldsand’’s Grace B of Kulawand). A beautiful and outgoing broken coated male who was a natural show dog and loved being at a show. Unfortunately he just grew too tall for the show ring and despite his other good points he was being overlooked. With the breeders approval and help we were able to find Toddy a most fantastic pet home where he is loved and walks miles each and every day.
Along came Polly – Kulawand Miss Salsa at Bareve (Goldsands Kulawand Skip N Go Naked – Goldsand’s Grace B of Kulawand) – another broken coated but this time a little girl. Polly is never going to be a show girl as she unfortunately suffered an accident whist as a puppy which resulted in her fracturing her jaw. However she is the most adorable, sweet natured JRT you would ever meet and likes nothing more than being with Sharon in the office on her chair or on her lap.
Due to Polly’s previous injury to her jaw she will never be bred from and will remain our “one and only” JRT.
